Description
The Siemens QRA55.G27 flame sensor with a highly sensitive photoelement is used in gas and liquid fuel burners with a continuous cycle to monitor yellow or blue flame and detect the ignition spark. It transmits a signal about the registration of flame light radiation to the burner control system. It can be mounted directly on the burner when retrofitted with a special adapter.

The sensor operates in conjunction with LGK16/ LGI16 combustion controllers. It consists of a UV-sensitive photoelement with 2 electrodes that respond to the light spectrum of 190-270 nm. The detector does not register radiation from extraneous sources, such as heated fireclay brick, daylight, or lamps in the boiler room.
The Siemens QRA photoelement is located behind a rotating shutter in front of the tube, connected to the housing on a flange. A quartz glass window prevents dust from entering the device. The sensor housing contains a stepper motor and electronic components to control the shutter.
The degree of dust and moisture protection of the QRA55 housing meets the IP 65 standard. The device is protected from the effects of dust and water jets directed from any side and can be installed both indoors and outdoors at temperatures of -20...+60 °C. It is important to prevent condensation, icing, and moisture penetration into the housing to avoid incorrect operation and damage to the device.
With the AGG16.C adapter (optional), the detector can be installed on the burner sight tube or the combustion chamber viewing port.

Siemens QRA ultraviolet flame sensors are supplied with a clamp. The Siemens QRA55 flame sensor can be purchased with additional equipment: an adapter for mounting on the burner, a connecting cable with a plug, and a device for measuring the sensor current.
