Description

The Siemens QRC1A1.103C27 UV flame sensor is equipped with a standard sensitivity diode and a signal preamplifier. It monitors the combustion of blue and yellow flames during the operation of low-power burners burning gas or liquid fuel. It is used in conjunction with burner automatics operating in intermittent mode.

More about the flame sensor

The QRC1 sensor responds to ultraviolet radiation from liquid fuel and gas burning with a blue flame. It has frontal visibility. Suitable for a wide range of burner automatics with a repeatedly-short-cycle operating mode.

The photosensitive element is placed in a shockproof plastic housing 82 mm long, to which a 500 mm long cable is connected. The kit includes a cable gland. A special diode, responding to UV radiation, is located behind a plexiglass window, protected from mechanical damage and dust.

During operation, a brief interruption of the flame signal is allowed, which ensures uninterrupted operation of the burner with strong flame pulsations.

Features and characteristics:

  • power supply parameters: 230 V, -15%, +10%, 50-60 Hz;
  • operating principle – response to UV radiation;
  • diode with standard sensitivity;
  • frontal visibility of the ultraviolet radiation source;
  • degree of protection against dust and moisture – IP 40;
  • maintenance-free;
  • possibility of mounting on the burner in any position;
  • operating temperature range (ambient): -20...+60 ºC;
  • integrated preamplifier;
  • rubber locking seal for secure fastening;
  • application in gas, liquid fuel and combined burners;
  • compact housing dimensions, mounting in any burner.

Installation

The installation location of the sensor is chosen taking into account the registration of the most active zone of flame radiation by the photosensitive element. When placing, it is necessary to exclude the possibility of light from the ignition spark. During installation and operation of the flame control device, exceeding the maximum allowable temperature (+60 °C), vibrations and shocks to the sensor is not allowed. The rubber lock provides strong, vibration-resistant mounting and simplifies the selection of the optimal position of the sensor relative to the flame.

Please note!

Ultraviolet flame sensors for burners are capable of registering individual parts of the ultraviolet spectrum that comes from other light sources (lighting fixtures in the work room, ignition sparks, sunlight, etc.), which requires taking standard safety measures during installation and operation of the device.
